Purpose and Goals

The purpose of the project is to:

Strengthen and develop the countryside by creating a social meeting place in Klingstabygden.

The goal of the project is:

An unmanned store with a functioning access and payment system, pleasant environment inside the store as well as outside with wooden decking, tables, chairs, playhouses that can be used by those visiting the place.

About the Project

”In the village, there is today a strong association life. We who live here have most things – beautiful nature, a lake to swim in, preschool, school, and fantastic forest areas to walk and pick mushrooms in. What we lack, however, is a daily meeting place that can serve as a hub for the residents. In the countryside, such a place has historically been – and still often is – a smaller grocery store, convenience store, or kiosk. A place where you can meet familiar or unfamiliar neighbors, have a cup of coffee in the sun, sit down and read a good book, or just buy an ice cream with the children during the summer vacation.”

From the application

”Our ambition is that the quality of life for the residents in the village will be raised, and that it contributes to a more vibrant countryside.".

We see clear environmental benefits in that we and those living in the village can shop for basic goods locally, and see this as a place where other businesses and associations in the village can also have a space to market themselves and sell their goods. We see that there are many local actors who would benefit from a place like Bytiken existing.”
