Smart village 2030

What are Smart rural areas really? Well, simplified it means that residents in a rural area come together to create services and infrastructure with joint efforts, but also other functions that are needed for a place to be attractive. This can be association-driven solutions for services that are otherwise provided by businesses or public operations, but which for various reasons do not exist everywhere. Some examples are local shops, fuel, home delivery of groceries, a gym, or anything else that is important for your specific rural area.

Brief about the project

Leader Mittland Plus has been granted support for the project Smart rural 2030, a project to inspire and coach rural areas in the Leader Mittland Plus geographical area to develop ”smart rural areas” according to the EU's definition of smart rural areas.

The purpose of the project is to stimulate rural areas to find local solutions for local needs for services and infrastructure through joint initiatives.

Smart rural areas have been identified as an important instrument for survival and development for communities outside the larger urban areas, so the project through an employed coach will work to inform about smart rural areas as an idea, assist with their knowledge for the rural areas that want to develop plans for smart rural areas, and coach rural areas in their implementation of smart rural strategies and similar local initiatives. In this way, the project will contribute to more creative solutions to local unmet needs for services and infrastructure.

In the project, we will spread information by holding information and inspiration meetings, individual meetings with potential smart rural areas, and coaching for associations and rural areas that want to continue working with smart rural strategies, either as a preparatory micro-support, in a larger feasibility study, or in the implementation of a smart strategy.

Facts

The project is financed by the Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the local leader partnership.

The project runs until December 31, 2027.
