About umbrella projects
It is an easier way to apply and the handling goes quite fast since no intermediary is needed at the Swedish Board of Agriculture.
Here’s how you do it
You first go through your idea with someone from Leader Mittland Plus, for example with the project coach for the project Smart built 2030 who is also the main responsible for the umbrella project feasibility studies Smart built, or with the operations manager of Leader Mittland Plus. We help you along the way and answer questions regarding the application and budget.
The application is submitted to Leader Mittland Plus digitally, preferably attached as a Word file or PDF via email.
The decision process
Microproject applications are handled by Leader Mittland Plus and we check that your project aligns with the main project's goals. Then the documents are submitted to what is called the decision committee. They assess projects based on questions that are predetermined and decide whether your project idea aligns with the large project. If your application aligns with the main project and meets the conditions, you will receive a yes.
Our project coach will inform you how it went and help you further.
Tips
You can only receive project support for approved expenses that have occurred after the application for micro support has been submitted to us, so for safety's sake, do not start before you know that you will be approved.
Save all documentation for the expenses in original such as invoices and payment proofs. If you start your microproject before you have received a decision, it is at your own risk. (This means that if Leader Mittland Plus does not approve your application, you will have to cover your expenses yourself.)
Some must-haves…
Organization number. The one applying for support must be an organization. The organization applying for support needs to have enough money in the bank account to carry out the project and be able to cover the entire amount, as one receives money only after an invoice or cost has been paid. (It is possible to get an advance in certain cases.)
Project description with budget. You need to write and submit a clear description of what you want to do and you need to detail what in the project will cost money (and how much).
We would like you to describe how you got the idea for the project in the application and who will be involved in carrying out the project.
Volunteer resources. Your own contribution is called volunteer time and you need to calculate how much volunteer time you expect in the project and report it to us by, for example, writing down the time on a paper that we receive with your application for payment.
It is not possible to apply for micro support for:
Regular operations. (By this, we mean something that you are already doing and need money to continue doing.).
Salaries to your own organization or yourselves when you work on the project
Investments, that is, something that is built or purchased and that will remain after the project and has a value over 24,000 SEK.
Other
In order to receive support from Leader Mittland Plus, what you are seeking support for must align with something called horizontal criteria. In practice, this means that you who are applying for the micro-support must actively take a stand for the equal value of all people, work for equality, and advocate for sustainable solutions and for the environment. Write in your application how you think about these issues. There is a document with headings you can use as help, for example, fill it in and attach it to your application.
