The purpose of the project is to strengthen and develop the countryside around Holmsjön and its surroundings by developing a visitor destination in and at Holms church.

The goal of the project is:

A cultural visitor destination through a unique 19th-century church organ and museum, popular education, and a publication.

About the Project

The project includes several sub-components:

  • Reconstruction of an organ
  • Establishing an exhibition in the museum
  • Planning and conducting lectures
  • Teaching for children and youth
  • Planning and conducting a conference
  • Producing a publication

From the application

”Fundamental to this application is the need for particularly the Holm region. This area has long been a depopulated area, but there are several good initiatives working for the development of the region, and with this project, we see development and community engagement that has the potential to strengthen this positive rural development both in the short and long term.
Through a unique project, where an organ instrument is reconstructed based on historically preserved material and placed in Holms church, we create engagement, activities, and synergy effects that we believe will be of immense significance.
The musical life in the region is strengthened, children and youth are engaged in various cultural activities, and the visitor industry is engaged and strengthened.
